Introduction
  
   Preventing the contamination from source is the best way to solve environmental problems and realize economic sustainable development strategy in green chemistry. Supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) as a green solvent is one of the important research regions in green chemistry. The reactions in scCO2 present some merits compared to conventional solvents such as high reaction rate and selectivity, and easy separation. This research group was founded in October 2004, the purpose of our research is to develop new synthesis method and technique, which are of low-energy-exhausting, atom economy and environmentally benign. At present, our research is focused on the green chemical synthesis and catalysis with using environmentally benign solvents to take place of conventional organic solvents, including chemical synthesis and preparation of new catalytic materials in supercritical fluids; catalytic reactions in ionic liquid; chemical synthesis by microwave technique; and natural product extraction with supercritical CO2.
